Camera
Choose your camera first. The Looks and settings open up after that.
Write it to the camera with AlphaLuma
Our AlphaLuma app can write recipes into Sony cameras. Write this one over USB, or wirelessly on supported bodies.
See supported camerasHow to enter it on the camera
- 1Press MENU and open Creative Look. On most recent bodies it sits under Exposure/Color → Color/Tone; the path differs a little by model.
- 2Select the base Look from your recipe.
- 3Open that Look’s settings and enter the values in the order listed: Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Fade, Saturation, Sharpness, Sharpness Range, Clarity.
- 4Set white balance (with its A-B / G-M shift) and DRO in their own menu items.
- 5Optional: save the result to a Custom Look slot so you can call it up later. The ZV-1 II and ZV-1F have no Custom Look slot.
Then shoot one JPEG and open it in the Recipe Reader. It reads the settings the camera actually recorded, so you can check that every value went in.
Questions
Which Sony cameras can use a recipe made here?
Bodies with the Creative Look menu: the A7 IV, A7 V, A7C II, A7R V, A6700, ZV-E1, FX3 and the rest of the camera list. Older bodies such as the A7 III and A6400 have Creative Style instead, with no Fade or Clarity, so these recipes do not carry over.
Why do the sliders start at “Camera default” instead of 0?
A setting you do not touch is simply not part of the recipe: you leave it where the camera has it. We do not publish starting values for each Look, so this page never fills one in for you. If you have edited that Look before, check its other settings on the camera.
Do I need an account? Is anything uploaded?
No account is needed to build, copy or share a recipe. Everything runs in your browser, and the share link carries the settings in its address. Only saving it as a recipe on this site asks you to sign in.
Why are some values trimmed when I save?
For some settings the camera allows a wider range than our create form, for example Contrast ±9 on the camera against ±7 on the form. Values past the form’s range are trimmed when you save. The copied text and the share link keep the camera’s numbers.
Can the recipe go to the camera without typing it in?
This page cannot talk to the camera. The AlphaLuma app can write recipes into the camera over USB, or wirelessly on supported bodies; the supported camera list is on alphaluma.com.
